Rebecca Brown will be leading an all female trio band at the retreat during a reflective time of worship through music. Rooted in the Protestant church, Rebecca offers her musical expertise laden with deep empathy and wisdom. When she leads worship, she meets each of her listeners where they are and offers them comfort, guidance, and warmth from the depth of her heart. She offers an introductory reflection on grief below:

Grief has recently become a road upon which I am familiar walking. It’s a windy road that curves and bends, and with each turn I often feel unsteady. What I am learning is that in the midst of the deepest suffering, there is a God worth worshiping. I often need to lead worship while sitting in that well of grief, and Jesus always stands in the gap. He covers all those things I can’t understand, and all those emotions I cannot move through yet. While worshiping, my grief is stilled, even for the briefest of moments, and for that, I am always grateful.
